Saga Castle
Saga Castle is one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles. It is a flatland-style castle built between 1608 and 1611 by the Nabeshima clan, lords of the Saga Domain, through the expansion of the former Muramachi Castle. Until the end of the Edo period, it served as a political and cultural center. Unfortunately, many of the castle buildings were lost in two major fires.
